Joni says: Just like Stephanie has been busy with making new tiles, I've been busy too. But I've been working on art works for my next exhibition. It's going to be based on flowers, and Stephanie and I decided this morning that we are going to name it "Blossom". Here's a sneak preview at the rose I'm currently working on:
And here's my tile for Diva's Challenge:
"J" is for just Munchin. I'm kidding. It's my initial. |
Stephanie says: And here's my tile for the challenge...
I also have a few more tiles to show you, too.
"YAH" (You Are Here) is a wonderful pattern to work with. This time, I tried to get the "strips" to connect. I really like how it turned out. This is actually a Renaissance tile cut into a circle. |
Now, the next tile has a story to go along with it.
What happened with this tile was that I accidentally got glue onto one of its edge. And of course I was upset about it, but then I remembered how Zentangle teaches the fact that there are no mistakes— only opportunities. So instead of just throwing the tile away, I tried to work with it.
I ended up drawing a sort of leaf/feather shape and then cutting around that shape. And then I filled the remaining area with Printemps and Yin Cut (gosh, it's been so long since I last drew Yin Cut. I love the pattern so much, but I completely forgot about it until yesterday...)
i like all of the work shown here, and all so very different.
ReplyDeleteThat's probably because half of the works shown on this post if from my mother, Joni. ^-^
DeleteThank you, all the same, for taking the time to leave a nice comment. My mother and I both appreciate it.
Very lovely tiles!
ReplyDeleteThank you. Your previous tile with Tri-Bee on it was really beautiful. I struggled with drawing Tri-Bee, but you made it look effortless.
DeleteI love your Munchin around the "J". I had to look twice before I saw it! I also really love your "no mistakes" tile. See, when you say you forgot about Yincut, that's just what I was saying on my blog with my Throwback Thursday challenge. You should post it there!
ReplyDeleteThank you for your comment.
DeleteMy daughter, Stephanie, is also glad that you like her "no mistakes" tile.
You're amazing with the amount of tiles you do and I love how delicate and beautiful your tiles look.
Yes, I agree with Joni. Your tiles are beautiful, and I'll definitely be joining your Throwback Thursdays in the future. ^-^
DeleteThank you, Lily!
ReplyDeleteBoth Munchin tiles are beautiful in their own way.
ReplyDeleteAll are very lovely!
ReplyDeleteGreat tiles all of them! Can't wait to see the rest of the larger piece!
