Zentangle Challenge: Brella

Zentangle Challenge #216 called for using the tangle "Brella". As it was also the 4th of May, there was an additional challenge to pay homage to Star Wars.

  Here's my entry:

The drawing was the size of a zentangle tile, but I drew it in my Enviro Journal.
Also, the Milan eraser you see in the photo is absolutely lovely to use and I plan to write a review about all the different Milan erasers you can find at Art Friend.

And here's the finished piece.

I know it's not the 4th anymore... But I did post it earlier on my Instagram. For those of you who aren't following me on Instagram, you can find me over there at "havepen_willdraw".

This zentangle challenge was fun, and I'm looking forward to taking part in more challenges. :)

Your Brella zentangle tile reminds me of summer time, actually. With umbrellas at the beach and swirly ice creams. :)

    1. Hey~ We had similar ideas on how to use Brella! :D

It was interesting to read that Holland commemorates WWII veterans on the 4th. I like that they celebrate freedom the next day.

  5. Your 'Brella tangle was really well done. I had seen this pattern on a sweater. One minute it looked like a box and the next...umbrellas. You really captured the essence of what I tried to deconstruct for that pattern...well done!!!

I'm glad you think I captured the essence of the tangle. It was really fun to do.

    1. Hello Lezli,

It's good to hear that your son finally got properly diagnosed.
I think it's great to find time to draw because drawing is "time set aside for myself" and we all need that. Looking forward to taking part in the next Zentangle Challenge. I hope to see you join too! :)

  7. Wow...that brella in the background is wonderful! I am really enjoying all the star wars creations (even though I didn't do one) this week on the diva's challenge. I look forward to seeing more of your work.

    1. Hey Lynell,

Derwent Inktense pencils are awesome. You should definitely try adding water to them because the colours get so much brighter after that. Also, Derwent's blender pens are great to get the colours to look smoother.
I should try working with colours on a zentangle tile soon. Your Brellas look good for summer season. :)
