Recommended Artist: Jan Mraz

Tattoo artist, Jan Mraz, creates gorgeous works of art on paper, canvas, and skin. I love how his sketches can be super detailed (check out the amount of details on the owl), but he also has the ability to take a subject down to its purest form.

Check out more of his works via his website.

Recommended Artist: Mc Gnarcal

What he does is use whiteout on pieces of transparent plastic to bring little creatures to life in our world. I think it's an ingenious idea. It's whimsical and loads of fun, and you should totally check out his Tumblr to see more of the fantastic monsters he's created.

Stephanie's Sketches v.7 (W.I.P)

Stephanie's Sketches, Version 7, (Works In Progress).

Below are some of the drawings I did whilst on the train this past week or so. If you'd like to see more of my works, I'm on:

You can also contact me at stephanie_jennifer@ymail.com if you have any inquiries.

The above drawing is almost done. Just need to add more shading and details.

Cranes. I seem to have taken a liking to line art these days.
I thought the lines looked cool and wondered how it'd look like with colour, so I added some with my Prismacolors. I think it looks pretty cool, and I'd like to finish it soon.

I guess my biggest hurdle is to actually finish projects that I start. The perfectionist in me is always saying that what I produce is never perfect enough. Perfection is, however, unattainable. We are but humans. We are imperfect and thus what we create would always be imperfect. We make mistakes; we live, we love, we learn...

Recommended Artist: Rachel Baran

The topics Rachel Baran cover are extremely diverse, ranging from philosophical to subjects relating to society and economics. Her photographs are beautifully thought out and have a sensitivity that most young photographers lack. I highly recommend that you view more of her works. You can do so by viewing her Flickr via this link.

Recommended Artist: Anna Dittman

I absolutely adore Anna Dittman's paintings. I love the colours she utilises; I love the emotions she's able to portray in her portraits; and I love that she includes just enough details to keep viewers engaged but not overwhelmed.

Recommended Artist: Youngjoo Namgung

Gorgeously amazing line work; beautiful minimal colours used; and her attention to details is superb.

You should definitely view more of her works via her Behance.

Recommended Artist: Erin Hanson

The beautiful rich pigments of Erin Hanson's paintings still do sing in harmony with each other. We all know that if you use too much pure pigments, you run the risk of having what some people call "a rainbow vomit". However, Erin Hanson manages to balance warm and cool colours superbly, and thus creates gorgeous paintings that mimic the warmth of the landscapes he paints.

Recommended Artist: Alfonso Elola

This is one of her older works that I found that made me fall in love with her art:

Her style reminds me very much of Art Nouveau. The soft curves of the female body; the pastel hues; the amount of details she puts in each of her drawings...

She contacted me to ask me to update this post with some of her new works, and so I took a look and found that her style had evolved quite a big deal.

Still having that soft pastel colour scheme, but with much more darker subjects depicted.
And with the addition of some beautifully detailed line works...

Her works are gorgeous and you should definitely check more of her works via her Behance.

Recommended Artist: Alasdairc Thomson

The dresses are sculptures. They're made of stone, or marble... Let that just sink in for a while.

I was, and am, completely floored by the amount of skill and patience Alasdairc Thomson has for his form of Art. The pain-staking hours he must have put in to his craft, and the amount of time he would need to complete each piece. The amount of details in each piece. The delicate folds of cloth rendered in such an unforgiving medium such as stone.

You really should view more of his works via this link.
